30 in Thirty is Live!

It’s that time of year again! Another season of 30 in Thirty Grants!

We started this program in 2011, and since then have awarded $145,000 for 195 different projects across Virginia. Want to start a community garden? We can help. Need to update your neighborhood playground? We might have a few bucks for you. Anxious to launch a cleanup? One of our grants may help.

To celebrate Virginia and Earth Day, we’re going to award thirty grants in amounts from $500 to $1,000. Your idea to help keep Virginia beautiful must make an impact in one of four categories: Litter Prevention, Recycling, Beautification, or Cigarette Litter Prevention.

Watch the 30 in Thirty page for the application forms to pop up, and we’ll take your grant proposals from April 1st until April 30th.

We’re also gearing up for our 7th Annual Golf Tournament. On Monday, June 12th, we’ll again gather at the beautiful Stonehenge Golf & Country Club in Richmond to enjoy that fantastic setting, breathe in some fresh air, and raise some serious funds for our Keep Virginia Beautiful mission. Lunch will be catered by Lunch/Supper of Richmond, and dinner will be provided by Outback Steak House. Sign up to play, register a foursome, or sponsor a hole by going here.

With Spring springing and Earth Day fast approaching, there are a ton of great things popping up on our Events Page. There are cleanups, environmental events, educational programs, and some things that just seem darned fun! Browse our events page to see what’s happening near you. And remember, we want to hear from you too! If you know of any events involving litter prevention, recycling, beautification, waste reduction, or education, submit them to the calendar. If you don’t fancy yourself tech-savvy, drop us a line, tell us what’s going on, and we’ll get it posted and shared for you.
