2024 Combined Green Grant Application Form

Applications will be accepted until April 30, 2024. The best way to submit the application is to use a Chrome browser on a laptop or desktop (rather than mobile device). If you use a ".gov" or ".edu" server, or are with a corporation that has a strict firewall, you might find it easier to submit from your home computer. There will not be an opportunity to save and return to your online application. It's best to compose your answers in a document you can save, then copy and paste your responses into the online application, so that you will retain your work in the event of a software or internet malfunction when submitting.

Important requirements: (1) You may submit a separate application for more than one category, but only one grant would be awarded to any one group for 2024. (2) Projects or Programs must take place in the Commonwealth of Virginia. (3) Checks will only be made payable to group entities (no checks will be written directly to individuals). (4) You must complete your project or program by October 1st and submit a final report by October 15, 2024. Community Beautification: projects and programs such as community gardens, vacant lot restoration, public green space creation or improvement, clearing invasive species from hiking trails.

Litter Prevention or Abatement: projects and programs include the purchase of litter grabber tools, safety vests, and other supplies for community or roadside litter cleanups, tire disposal fees, and pet waste stations.

Cigarette Litter Prevention Programs: include installing and monitoring cigarette butt receptacles, picking up and recycling cigarette butts, or informing and educating the adult public about the need for cigarette litter prevention.

Recycling or Waste Reduction: projects and programs aimed at collecting recyclable items to keep them from going to the landfill, or reducing waste by substituting repurposed or reusable items instead of single-use plastics. Purchasing recycling bins, hosting Fix-It Fairs, and Composting programs are examples in this category.
