Signs of LOVE Are Everywhere
There really is a lot of love in Virginia. It’s easy to see – LOVEwork signs out in the field, at historic sites, and many other beautiful places all across Virginia.
You’re sure to have noticed them, with over 275 LOVEworks throughout the Commonwealth! Some are outside, some are inside. They show up in public places, and private spaces.
The LOVEworks signs are created by various artists out of materials and themes that relate to the local area where the sign is placed. The goal is to have the signs as backdrops as visitors take their photo in front of the letters L-O-V-E.
If you love racing, check out the LOVEwork sign at the Richmond Raceway constructed with tires, a checkered-flag “O,” and helmets. Or if old-fashioned horse power is more to your liking, you’ll need to visit the home of Secretariat at Meadow Event Park, the birthplace of the famous Triple Crown winner.
A lot of LOVE can be found at many wineries and breweries. You can picture yourself in front of beautifully painted wine barrels at Potomac Point Vineyard or the LOVEwork sign created by Veterans at 6 Bears & a Goat Brewing Company, both in Northern Virginia.
Headed to the beach? Climb up on a giant-size Adirondack chairs in Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore. Getting married? Stop by the LOVEwork sign at the Welcome Center in New Church for a quick selfie, you’ll still get to the church on time. Going on a weekend drive with your antique car club friends? Be sure to capture a snap in front of the extra large LOVEworks at the Deltaville Museum in Deltaville!
Many of the LOVEworks are a destination in themselves. You can visit the Salvage Dogs’ handiwork in Roanoke at their Black Dog Salvage for upcycled artwork at its finest! If you travel to Floyd for business or pleasure, the LOVEwork sign at the Floyd Event Center is constructed of tree trunks and branches to indicate its focus on nature at their Eco-Village. Or you could head over to Buffalo Mountain Ziplines to either admire their metal LOVE sculpture, or zip through the trees up close and personal.
There are LOVEworks Family Adventures, or a map of all the LOVEwork Installations for you to explore on your own.
Let’s face it, it’s easy to find LOVE in Virginia!
