National Parks are becoming a refuge for people from city light pollution. Join amateur astronomers as they present a provocative presentation on controlling light pollution as you gaze at the heavenly stars through your own binoculars.

The spring and early summer season’s events will be different than previous years.  You will need to bring your own binoculars for night skies viewing. The amateur astronomer will point out constellations with a green laser. No telescopes will be provided.

Social distancing will be followed and everyone is required to have a mask. A blanket, jacket, chair and flashlight are recommended.

Held select dates at the Big Meadows Area (mile 51, inside the Rapidan Camp Gate). Free to all park visitors.

Presentation is cancelled if there is inclement weather. Call 540-999-2222 the day of the event to check on its status
