Clark Elementary wins our Second Thirty in 30!

Clark Elementary School in Charlottesville, VA has been awarded a $500 grant in the Beautification Category.  Our Thirty in 30 grant program focuses greater resources and attention on organizations and individual localities throughout the Commonwealth and how they are addressing the issues of litter prevention, recycling, waste reduction, beautification and education.  We provided the opportunity for government, non-profit and/or service organizations in Virginia to apply for one of (30) grants of $500 three in different categories:  Beautification, Litter Prevention, and Recycling.  These grants are made possible by Lowe’s Home Improvement and your generous contributions to Keep Virginia Beautiful.

Clark Elementary School (CES) is Title 1 school and very much the shining light of its Charlottesville Neighborhood.  CES will be installing a Wildlife and Edible Garden this summer.  This garden will not only serve as a beautiful focal point for the school and community but it will also be a wildlife habitat for some of Virginia’s native creatures, it will serve as a place of learning for students, and it will also produce edible produce for the community to benefit from.  We are proud to award this $500 grant to such a worthy community endeavor in the heart of a beautiful Virginia neighborhood.
