Green Gift Winners Announced
Thank you to everyone who applied to receive a Green Gift! We are still celebrating our 70th Anniversary year as we award 35 Green Gifts to add to the 35 Green Grants to equal 70 GREEN THINGS going on across the Commonwealth! The efforts in communities are impressive and bring hope, knowing the difference you’re making to improve our natural and scenic environment!
Submissions for Green Gifts were evaluated by their compelling narrative, need, project goals, geographic location, to reflect a statewide presence, and inclusion of underserved communities where appropriate. It made for some tough decisions!

We were a little disappointed that there weren’t more organizations that applied to help us reach our goal for the total of CLPP Green Gifts available, so we reached out to our partner at Virginia Green Travel Alliance to help us place four additional Green Gifts for cigarette butt receptacles. Tom Griffin, Executive Director of VGTA, said there is always a need for cigarette butt receptacles at businesses and organizations within the hospitality industry, and he will help us identify the additional awards.
