We’re Giving Away Cleanup Kits and Grant Money
Earth Day may have been officially celebrated last week, but we believe that every day is Earth Day! We need to care for our environment every day of the year. There’s a lot of work to be done, and we’d like to help get you started.
We’re awarding Green Grants of $500, $750, or $1,000 to groups for projects you implement in your community to improve the natural and scenic environment of Virginia. But hurry! The last day to submit a grant application is April 30, 2022!
A panel of judges who are experts in their fields are reading and evaluating the grant applications. Their scores will be tallied, and we will select 30 projects to fund. One grant award will be announced each day in June.
We’re also excited to see all the cleanup efforts across the state, and the Great Virginia Greenup campaign is still going strong! We had a good turnout for a cleanup at the Diamond in Richmond before the start of baseball season; we joined in with Keep Norfolk Beautiful at Lafayette Park to clean up litter, paint trashcans, and cut back invasive bamboo. We’re also supporting self-directed cleanups for neighborhoods, employee groups, and families.
We’d like to equip you with the right gear to help you get the job done, so we’re giving away 10 Cleanup Kits this week (Monday, April 25th to Sunday, May 1st), all you need to do is enter your name here!
Each kit contains 2 high-quality trash grabbers, 2 safety vests (Adult size Large or Medium), 2 pair of cotton work gloves (size Large or Medium), and other goodies as available! It’s a great way to get out to safely clean up. We’ll ship a kit to you anywhere in the state, or if you live in the Richmond area you can pick it up from our office.
Thank you for the cleanup work you’re doing!!
