2020 – Best Year for Green Grants Applications

Thank you to everyone who applied to this year’s 30 in 30 Green Grants program! We were concerned that people would be distracted by the COVID-19 circumstances, or not be able to predict projects or programs for their group due to social distancing, or budget worries. But we received the highest number of applications yet! This proves that the good people of Virginia truly care about our environment, and are willing to make the effort in their own communities across the Commonwealth.

We received grant applications from middle schools and high schools; from Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Main Street Associations; civic groups, church groups, and “Friends of” organizations. The applications are now in the hands of the judging panel to evaluate and score. Their totals will be combined to reveal the top scoring proposals, and we will announce one grant award each day in the month of June.
