Keep Virginia Beach Beautiful Wins Final 30 in Thirty

We awarded Keep Virginia Beach Beautiful (KVBB), a $2,000 30 in Thirty grant for their Beautification project. KVBB will partner with Helping Hands, who provide property revitalization to senior, physically challenged, and financially disadvantaged residents of Virginia Beach. Volunteers concentrate on yard work, gardening and landscaping to make over properties that these at-risk residents are unable to manage. Award money will be spent on equipment and materials needed for the jobs, and for litter pickup.

Government, non-profit, civic, and service organizations in Virginia were invited to apply for grants for $500 to $1,000 describing how they plan to address Litter Prevention, Recycling, Cigarette Litter Prevention, or Beautification in their communities. This year there were five additional $2,000 awards made to applicants that had extensive projects with a greater reach. Since 2011, Keep Virginia Beautiful has provided over $145,000 to 195 projects throughout the Commonwealth. This year, we partnered with Altria, Keep America Beautiful, and Deep Run Dance Marathon to make the program possible.
