Keep Hopewell Beautiful Wins First 2017 30 in Thirty

We awarded Keep Hopewell Beautiful (KHB) a $1,000 grant for their Beautification project. KHB will use this money to bring new life to a 100-year-old neighborhood. The organization plans to add two monuments and plant over one hundred different types of plants, some of which are being donated by local patrons. Keep Hopewell Beautiful has planted hundreds of flowers all over Hopewell to enhance the city’s natural beauty and to support the health of their local ecosystem. The grant from Keep Virginia Beautiful allows them to continue this essential work.

Since 2011, we have provided over $145,000 to 195 projects throughout the Commonwealth.  This year, we partnered with Altria, Keep America Beautiful, and Deep Run Dance Marathon to make the program possible. Government, non-profit, civic, and service organizations in Virginia were invited to apply for grants for $500 to $2,000 describing how they plan to address Litter Prevention, Recycling, Cigarette Litter Prevention, or Beautification in their communities.
