James River Association Hooks 30 in 30

The James River Association in Richmond has been awarded a 30 in 30 Grant of $500 in the Litter Prevention category. These grants are made possible by Altria and MeadWestvaco.

Many people do not equate litter with water pollution. But any trash that’s on the ground eventually works its way through a watershed and ends up in our waterways. Picking up trash is one of the easiest ways for citizens to help protect the James River and its tributaries. The James River Association’s Self-Directed Trash Cleanup program enables interested groups or individuals to conduct their own trash cleanup. Funds provided by our 30 in 3o Grant will make an immediate impact on reducing litter by increasing the number of cleanup kits available for use by interested volunteers.
