Who’s Ready to Recycle?

We generally think that every day is a great day to recycle.  Our national day of recycling celebration, however, is November 14th, America Recycles Day.  This is the day in which we each do our part, and by doing so set a shining example to our friends and neighbors that “recycling is cool.”  You can go to our Events Page and find great cleanups and green things to do throughout November.  You can also look for America Recycle’s Day events through Keep America Beautiful here.

On the 14th, we’ll be teaming up with the Retail Merchants Association in Richmond  for a Drive-Thru recycling day.  Here’s the statement from our friends at Retail Merchants:

America Recycles Day at RMA

Richmond, VA– On Friday November 14th, Retail Merchants Association (RMA) and Keep Virginia Beautiful (KVB) are teaming up to host an extensive drive-thru recycling event. In addition to general recyclables, electronics and batteries being collected, there will be on-site paper shredding available. The event is free and open to the public. It will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in RMA’s parking lot, located at 5101 Monument Ave, Richmond, VA 23230, near Willow Lawn.

This event supports national efforts and recycling events held across the country for America Recycles Day—the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.

Businesses and residents are encouraged to bring recyclables to RMA from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. This recycling event is supported by Boomerang Recovery, TFC Recycling, Interstate Batteries, Central Virginia Waste Management Authority and Proshred.
