Bon Air 4th Grader Bags Thirty in 30

A Bon Air Elementary School (BAES) 4th grader, Afton Mueller, values the environment so much that she wrote a grant proposal for litter prevention.  We were so impressed with her submission that we decided her school deserved the money.  BAES plans to purchase litter grabbers, bags, work gloves and reusable bags for their annual clean-up of school grounds and the Powhite Creek.  The BAES student body has participated in this community clean-up for 3 years and this Fall they want to provide some supplies to make sure their event is even more successful.  We were more than happy to help this Richmond school and this young woman with a $500 Thirty in 30 Grant in the Litter Prevention Category.

The Keep Virginia Beautiful Thirty in 30 Grant program focuses greater resources and attention on organizations and individual localities throughout the Commonwealth and how they are addressing the issues of litter prevention, recycling, waste reduction, beautification and education.  We provided the opportunity for government, non-profit and/or service organizations in Virginia to apply for one of our Thirty in 30 Grants of $500 in three different categories:  Beautification, Litter Prevention, and Recycling.  These grants are made possible by Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation and your continued support.
