Angler’s Club in Orange reels in Thirty in 30

We’re excited to not only award these young out-of-the-box thinkers a “Thirty in 30” grant in the Recycling Category, but we would also like to award them for the most unique and creative recycling concept.  The Orange County High School Angler’s Club will be creating additional line and plastic worm recycling centers at their local marinas and boat ramps.  This group of young fisherman not only wants to enjoy their waterways, they also want to help protect and preserve them.  They have already created stations where boaters and fisherman can properly dispose of their used fishing line and plastic lures.  Now with some Thirty in 30 grant money, the Orange County High Sschool Angler’s Club will be able to expand their recycling/disposal center to even more marinas and boat ramps.  At some point they may want to even consider patenting their idea.

We’re awarding a Thirty in 30 Grant every day for 30 days (Get it?).  Government, non-profit and/or service organizations in Virginia could apply for a grant of $500 in three different categories:  Beautification, Litter Prevention, and Recycling.  These grants are made possible by Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation and your generous contributions.
