United By Blue is an outdoor brand that focuses on ocean and river conservation. This summer, they are heading out on a cross-country road trip to host cleanups on rivers in 21 states. Their first stop of the trip is in Richmond – they are hosting a cleanup of the James River on Belle Isle on June 1st, from 5pm-7pm.
Their cleanups are 2-hour evening events, in which they learn about the waterway they are working on, clean the shorelines, and then play games and share our experiences with the water. They’re great community/environmental events, and a good way to earn volunteer hours. United By Blue provides all supplies, snacks, and water.
