Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day with a day at Belle Isle State Park.

Start your day at the Belle Isle Visitor Center to learn all about the Northern Neck – discover the habitats that make it unique and the history of the people who have called it home. While you are there, pick up a trail map and checklist. How many of the critters can you spot while you are out and about in the park?

Join Richard Moncure at the boat launch for an up-close look at a locally-built, wooden round stern deadrise. He’ll share the history of this iconic Chesapeake Bay boat and also tell you about the restoration and protection efforts that are happening in our region today to protect the precious resources that the Bay holds.

Celebrate the Centennial year of the Garden Club of Virginia by joining the Historic Garden Week tour. Both of Belle Isle State Park’s historic properties will be featured on the tour this year.
