Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation invites you to join us is honoring the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day at Mount Trashmore Park on Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 11AM to 3PM. Learn about what members of your community are doing to benefit the earth, what you can do to help and have fun! This spectacular event will include a 5K and 1 mile run/walk, a volunteer litter cleanup up of Lake Windsor, bounce houses and children’s activities, environmental and science exhibits, interactive displays, a recycling zone that will run from 10AM-2PM, food vendors, adult beverages and more! We will be featuring EDucational Talks on the stage this year featuring Frank Walker, Master Bee Keeper and “Farmer” John Wilson, regarding urban and community gardening. This celebration is open to everyone! Celebrate with us on this great day and explore more ways to make our planet a better place.
