“Kites and Critters: Day at the Farm on Poague Run” will offer something for everyone on April 19 from 1 to 5 p.m., at Carolyn Ford’s farm on Bells Lane.  All Stauntonians, especially families, are encouraged to come out to enjoy the outdoors and explore close up the conservation and farming that go on in the city’s agricultural district. Clear knolls invite kiting, while tours and displays will be featured at the barn.  Stations will include Quail Habitat, Trout Release, Stream Restoration, Riparian Buffers, Fish Touch Tank, Stream Critter Identification, Water Testing, and Growing Local Foods.  Kids (young and old) can fly a kite, release a trout, plant a tree, go on a habitat walk, and pet a lamb.  Come join the fun!
