This cleanup is being hosted by the Sierra Club, Falls of the James Group, Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, and Clean Virginia Waterways and RVA Clean Sweep.

“Litter is no joke and Gillies Creek needs a whole lot of love! On April Fools Day we will be cleaning up trash in Gillies Creek before it reaches the James River, which then flows to the largest most productive estuary in the contiguous United States, the Chesapeake Bay.”

Wear closed water proof shoes if your have them. Consider light weight (depending on the weather) clothing to protect against the possible poison ivy. Bring a water bottle & a friend
