Time: 8:30 am - 11:30 am

Location
Belle Isle

Region

Richmond Tree Stewards are trained volunteers who support and help care for our urban forest. Part of our work involves educating our fellow Richmonders about the aggressive non-native plant species that are degrading the environment in our parks, harming native wildlife, pollinators and birds as well as trees and other plants. Volunteers will help free native trees from smothering vines and remove non-native species in preparation for planting native species in selected areas this fall. Instruction, tools, gloves, and water and snacks will be provided.

Meet at the Belle Isle end of the suspended footbridge under the Belvidere/U.S. 1 bridge. Wear long pants and long sleeves are recommended as there is poison ivy in the area. No open-toed shoes or flip-flops. A hat and sunblock highly recommended.
