Moving and Shaking at Keep Virginia Beautiful

Things have been busy. On Earth Day, our executive director, Mike Baum, participated in a sustainability conference at Richmond International Raceway. Also on Earth Day, we launched our 30 in Thirty Grants Program for 2015. We’re over half way through awarding grants to 30 deserving groups and organizations who are doing their part to keep Virginia beautiful through programs encouraging recycling, litter prevention, waste reduction, education, and beautification.

Last week, Mike attended the Virginia Recycling Association conference in Virginia Beach. He gave an hour-long presentation on how you help us accomplish our mission, and they named Keep Virginia Beautiful the Outstanding Non-Profit Organization of the Year!

To cap it all off, Virginia Living Magazine offered to place a full-page ad for us in their “Best of Virginia” edition. This is their most read issue, and they really liked our “Love Virginia 365” post card, so we offered that for the ad. Make sure to look for your copy in magazine racks.
