A Recap of Thirty in 30

One of the highlights of our year, and something that we’re pretty proud of, is our Thirty in 30 Grant Awards.  We’ve been able to do this for a few years now, and we’re extremely grateful to Lowe’s Home Improvement for helping to fund a huge chunk of it this year.  We also count on your support to do this.  Since it started, we’ve awarded almost $100,000 to schools, parks, community and youth groups, and more.  With your continued support, through programs like our Give 60, we can continue to do so.

All of these groups and individuals had one thing in common:  They all shared our commitment to Keep Virginia Beautiful.  We awarded grants this June in three categories:  Litter Prevention, Recycling, and Beautification & Community Greening.  This year’s winners stretched from Tidewater through the Chesapeake, Northern Virginia to Southern towns, and across the Shenandoah Valley into our Western mountains.  Winners planted community gardens, produced educational signs and literature to promote recycling, created artwork out of trash and found items, and found creative ways to help fishermen and anglers keep lures and line out of our waterways.
