Bristol Cleans Up with Thirty in 30

The City of Bristol is implementing a unique approach to litter prevention; they are tasking their neighborhood watch participants to clean up their own neighborhoods.  We are excited to offer this $500 Thirty in 30 Grant to Bristol, and we applaud their efforts to create a new program using an existing infrastructure.  Bristol community cleanup efforts will be ongoing using the existing neighborhood watch patrol program.  Additionally, the City will organize quarterly cleanups to get the entire community involved.  Building vibrant communities and neighborhood pride can start with one simple idea that can become contagious.

We provided the opportunity for government, non-profit and/or service organizations in Virginia to apply for one of our Thirty in 30 Grants of $500 in three different categories:  Beautification, Litter Prevention, and Recycling.  These grants are made possible by Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation and your support.  Our Thirty in 30 Grant program offers a grant every day for thirty days, focusing greater attention and resources on organizations and individual localities throughout the Commonwealth and how they are addressing the issues of litter prevention, recycling, waste reduction, beautification and education.
